painting the future

I have been mostly in the studio everyday concentrating for my
upcoming exhibition.
Painting & painting & painting thin washes of low fire 'uwae' on my high fired ware and putting more wood on the fire while the tunes are streaming.

Sometimes in the late evenings I turn off the stereo & listen to the owls echoing over the river between the mountains.

Lots of time
to reflect upon the life of many adventures,
all the beauty's
along with
the injustice's...

I am very fortunate to be painting my own future positive.

Here comes the GOLD.

friendly biz

縄、(NAWA-means rope) was my friends fine restaurant/bar in Ebisu, Tokyo. They had a courtyard with a nice big tepee that had electric carpet in the Winter and the place cooked from an old style 'kamado' oven. It was always a nice inner-Tokyo break to sit around the fire drinking with friends.
After 10 years they moved to Shiga Prefecture and will now open their new restaurant. Very happy they asked me to make for them again and can't wait to visit!

along the river

I have settled along the river Naka, the Nakagawa.
This is where my journey to Japan has found home and to where I enjoy my life and studio.
Everyday I see the river flow on by, as it has taught me that all in life does.
We must accept what flows unto us and, at times, must allow it to flow onward on...
Now is the time to build my vessel.
